About this site

The Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center, in partnership with the Macomb County Chapter of Pheasants Forever, aims to rejuvenate 2.2 acres of land into a thriving habitat for pollinators through the introduction of native grasses and wildflowers. We hope to see this area of land transform from a field of invasive autumn olive and turf grass into a lush pollinator/wildlife habitat. Visitors are encouraged to help us document these changes!

In continuing the legacy of its founder and namesake Jo Burgess, the Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center provides nature-related experiences and activities to help visitors of all ages develop and rekindle an awareness and appreciation for the natural world around them.
