Clendening Dam is a rolled earth-fill dam that is regulated and maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. It was built in 1936 and is authorized by Section 4 of the Flood Control Act of 1938. Primary project purposes are flood damage reduction, recreation, and fish and wildlife.
This Chronolog is placed on top of the dam that overlooks the wetland that is approximately 20 acres. The wetland loop trail runs through the wetland where floating boardwalks connect it from one bank to another. The trail goes through the forest, wetland, and pollinator plot that is registered as Monarch Waystation.
Chronolog is a monitoring tool for parks, nature centers, wildlife organizations, schools, and museums worldwide. With over 100,000 contributors across 300 organizations, Chronolog is on a mission to engage communities with nature while recording important natural changes.
