Sandusky River Headwaters Preserve Wetland & Habitat Restoration

The 38 acre Sandusky Headwaters Preserve project is restoring habitat by adding wetlands on a 7-acre agricultural field and restoring an additional 2-acre wetland within the preserve. A stream is being diverted through a seasonal wetland with vegetation around the perimeter. These combined efforts will improve water quality by reducing nutrient loading into the Sandusky River. A pollinator habitat with flowering plants will also be developed to provide a food source for insects.
