About Cherryfield Riverwalk

The goal of the Cherryfield Riverwalk is to develop a safe, attractive, educational walking/biking loop around the Narraguagus River that connects Cable Pool Park and the Maine Seacoast Mission trail network.  Our primary goal is to create a welcoming space for community members to socialize, build connections, and learn about the natural and cultural history of the Narraguagus River.

We'll do this through several connected initiatives that all depend on local partnerships and community engagement.  Some of these intiatives include:

• remove invasive plants and replace them with native plants

• improve access and safety on roadways

• increase access to the water for public recreation

• monitor water quality

• stabilize eroding shorlines

• tell community stories

• attract more people to the downtown to support local businesses.

Cherryfield Riverwalk is part of the Momentum Conservation's Climate Change Observatory Network ,  a photo monitoring program designed to work with environmental organizations and communities to assist with the observation, measurement and documentation of long-term climate change trends and climate adaptation projects.
