Mill Race Preserve became part of the MetroPark system in 2013 but restoration work didn’t begin until early 2018 at the conclusion of an existing farming lease.  In the south field, 27-acres of former agriculture field were seeded with 9 native grasses and the 6-acre field on the north end of the property was seeded with a diverse prairie mix consisting of 84 different forbs and 7 native grasses. Mill Race Preserve Prairie

The Line Hill Prairie Restoration Project consists of an 8.5-acre old field that has been overrun with non-native invasive plants like Autumn Olive, Bush Honeysuckle, and Callery Pear.  The invasive plants have been removed and the site will be seeded with native prairie and grassland species. Help document the changes as this overgrown field is restored to a native meadow.
