Powhatan State Park sits on the banks of the beautiful James River, about 35 miles west of Richmond. The park offers three canoe launches, diverse wildlife habitats such as meadow, seasonal wetlands, and upland hardwood forests, and a historic cemetery. Visitors come to enjoy an afternoon on the scenic river, camp at the primitive or full-service campsites, and explore the diverse network of trails by foot, horseback, or bike.
