About this site

This location near a tributary of the Cahaba River is frequently assessed for water quality as a mid-point of the Zoo. Landscaping and seasonal changes may alter sunlight, temperature, plant communities, water flow, turbidity, and aqautic life. As a guest facing location, the goal is to better visualize and share these landscape changes with others in an effort to better advocate for our local aquatic resources.

About Birmingham Zoo

The Birmingham Zoo is a 501c3 nonprofit accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums that supports collective management of animal populations, research, and related conservation initiatives.
