Wood Creek Fish Passage

In Ohio, US

CMP112

About this site

Thank you for helping us monitor progress on this fish passage and creek stabilization project. The ford on this site was built to encase communication wires crossing the creek and is no longer needed. The ford artificially raised the elevation of the creek, which resulted in a barrier to fish being able to swim upstream and accelerated erosion downstream. Removal of the ford will allow more fish species to swim upstream from Tinker's Creek. Photos of this site will help us to show the transition from the old ford to a fish passage ramp with vegetated streambanks. You can also help monitor other sites: Euclid Creek headwater restoration at Acacia Reservation, Euclid Creek park revitalization & trail extension, Bonnie Park Wetland Restoration, and Nature-based shoreline stabilization at Wendy Park.
