Franconia Sculpture Park Prairie

In Wisconsin, US

FSP101

About this site

Franconia Sculpture Park resides on fertile Upland Prairie, restored in 2015 with a dormant seeding project.  Franconia continues to steward the land, encouraging the growth of native flora and fauna with intiatives that restore more of the park into prairie.

Franconia operates an artist residency program that actively changes the landscape through the installation and deinstallation of sculptures. Constant visitor engagement and harsh varying weather often determine the lifespan of each sculpture, but when one sculpture is removed there is space for something new!

About Franconia Sculpture Park

Franconia Sculpture Park is the pre-eminent, artist-centered sculpture park in the Midwest. Founded in 1996, Franconia provides physically and intellectually wide-open spaces that inspire new ways of thinking through access to contemporary sculpture, installation, and land art.  Located in the scenic St. Croix River Valley of Minnesota, Franconia operates a 50-acre outdoor museum, active artist residency program, and a depth and breadth of community arts programming for a diverse and engaged public.
