Praries like this one, once covered 200 million acres in North America. Today, less than one percent of that native habitat is left. By restoring these pocket prairies at Osage Park, we are restoring an impressive and complex habitat, that supports a large amount of plants, wildlife, and pollinators. Prarie restoration at Osage Park began in 2021 and is ongoing. The view from this landing will not only highlight the seasonal changes in the prarie, but the yearly increase in plant biodiversity with continued restoration and management efforts.
We cultivate spaces where community thrives. Our core pillars are nature, education, recreation, and preservation. Through donor and community partnerships we create unique experiences and programming. The Peel Compton Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
