About this site

In front of you is the Boyd Living Shoreline, a one-acre nature-based project that is fighting to reverse erosion occurring along the shore of Morgan Park. You'll notice wooden breakwaters out in the water, a wattle fence made of wood along the tree line, and (if the tide is low enough) you'll see manufactured wire reefs in between the two. All three components work together to trap sediment, thus allowing vegetation to return to the site and reversing erosion.
