Raes Creek Waterfall

About this site

Located at the historic 1850s Augusta Aqueduct, the Raes Creek Waterfall offers a stunning display of natural and engineered beauty. The waterfall, partly of anthropogenic origin due to the redirection of Raes Creek during the expansion of the Augusta Canal, cascades beautifully over sharp rocks, possibly part of the original bedrock. This site provides a serene spot for visitors to enjoy the blend of history and nature, where the creek, after being dammed at Lake Olmstead, joins the canal in a dramatic descent.
