Renaissance Park Wetland

City of Chattanooga
0
CHT102

About this site

This built wetland was created where a manufacturing waste pond used to settle toxic chemicals. The wetland reduces stormwater pollution entering the river from the parking lot by slowing down water with plants and rock barriers that provide habitat to fish, turtles, birds and many beneficial insects.

About City of Chattanooga

The Natural Resources program is housed in Parks Maintenance within the Parks and Outdoors Department. We maintain green infrastructure, consult on new park design and help reduce invasive plant species among many other projects.
