The Mangrove Beach Reserve, established as a managed area in 2024, is a vital ecosystem for mangroves and saltmarshes. This low-lying intertidal zone is transitioning from sabkha to mangroves due to rising sea levels, creating a thriving habitat for diverse bird species and fish nursery grounds. To support the area's seed bank and promote mangrove growth, over 24,000 mangroves were restored, with their growth monitored through this station. As mangroves expand, they provide essential services such as carbon storage, water filtration, and enhanced biodiversity, making this area ecologically significant for Umm Al Quwain.
