This Chronolog station provides long-term monitoring of the changing water levels, plant life, and wildlife within a tidal mudflat habitat between the shores of the Laguna Madre and the island’s interior costal prairie.
This ephemeral wetland is a favorite location of shorebirds. Birdwatchers will find a variety of bird species using the area as a wintering ground or as a resting point on their migrations further south.
