About this site
This is Croydon Creek which runs through Rockville's Civic Center Park near Croydon Creek Nature Center. This historic area was part of the Shapiro Tract which was donated for use as a park and it now is part of the Hayes Forest Preserve. In recent years this site has undergone some changes related to WSSC's SR3 program to shore up the streambank and repair existing sewer lines. We hope to monitor the changes to the creek after large storm events to see how streamflow changes the physical apprearance of the creek bed.

The Croydon Creek Nature Center is just a short distance from vibrant downtown Rockville. The center is nestled on 120 acres of forest preserve, open meadow areas and a winding creek bustling with a variety of wildlife. The nature center presents a world of discovery through interpretive exhibits, informative programs and the exploration of an urban forest.
