In Florida, US

DIP104

About this site

Along the edge of the mangrove forest, the intertidal mudflat habitat plays an important ecological role in Deerfield Island Park, providing habitat for burrowing invertebrates, supporting microbial communities and serving as feeding grounds for fish and wading birds that use the mangrove and tidal zones. Photos submitted from this Chronolog station allow managers to monitor tidal fluctuation patterns, seasonal and annual changes in the mudflat habitat and species that visit this area.
