Deerfield Island Park Mudflat Habitat

Along the edge of the mangrove forest, the intertidal mudflat habitat plays an important ecological role in Deerfield Island Park, providing habitat for burrowing invertebrates, supporting microbial communities and serving as feeding grounds for fish and wading birds that use the mangrove and tidal zones.
