On September 30, 2018 a fire broke out on private land near Spring Creek, Nevada and quickly moved into the Ruby Mountains and on to lands in the Jarbidge Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest.

The fire impacted Lamoille Canyon, a popular destination for outdoor recreation enthusiaists due numerous hiking trails, a campground, wildlife, wildflowers, and amazing views.

Numerous volunteers helped begin the rehabilitation process, and Mother Nature continues the restoration process, with changes seen each season.

HINT TO FIND STATION:  While facing the Talbot Trail Trailhead sign, turn to your right and look for the two-track trail that heads up the hill to your right.  Take that two-track trail up the hill.  Just after the plateau begin to look to your left for a clearing/pull out for the station.
