Chippewa Lake Wetland Restoration

Active since 2022
Ohio, US

About this site

At more than 300-acres, Chippewa Lake is Ohio’s largest glacial lake, making it ecologically and culturally significant. In recent years, the lake has been plagued by harmful algal blooms. This 50 acre project will restore several wetlands and a stream channel to intercept nutrients from nearby agricultural drainage areas, and create wetland habitat within the footprint of a former amusement park along the shore of Chippewa Lake.
